After Sundown Poem by Adelia Rudiyanto

After Sundown

After sundown
When the sun decides to climb down from its throne
When the day has finally set to rest
The light dims in an elegant motion beyond the horizon
Slowly fading away as the moon replace him upon the throne
Under the shades of serene darkness, she rules the earth
And with her command, the night air welcomes you
To another side of time
Kiss the day goodbye, and surrender yourself to the night
Let it sing you the lullaby of peace
Close your eyes and dive deeper into dream
Sleep, sleep tight, dear!
Wait for tomorrow to come
And as the break of dawn arrive,
You’ll find yourself in a new phase
Until another sundown comes to you
