Again Poem by Theresa Flint

Again

Again he returns
revealed in the dark
She lays awake, restless
realizing his mark

Astonished and distressed
she cries herself to sleep
Morning strikes with hunger
while she refuses to eat

To others he has left
but to her, he returns
His scar looks minor
while inside her heart burns

Agony follows his shadows
dwelling with delight
She pretends she can't see him
knowing she can no longer fight

She is in pain
she feels it in her bones
He is the returning
and yes he...he is alone
