Age Poem by Francis Duggan

Age

Rating: 5.0

The old can only reminisce on their physical prime
Though to do this they must go back decades in time
To their better years in the distant past
When they were fitter, stronger and healthier and could run and walk fast

The young in their life's prime are physically healthy and strong
And their energy levels remain high all day long
And they look forward in hope to the years ahead
Most of them will be strong and healthy when the aged of the present are dead

Humans to time lose their beauty like flowers of the Fall
It truly is a young person's World after all
They are the young women and men of the now
But eventually to time they too will have to bow

The old have their memories of decades long gone
And the clock on their lives ever keep ticking on
But one can only say of them that they did have their time
People age rather quickly past their physical prime.
