Age Factor Poem by Pauline Waweru

Age Factor

You were once a baby girl,
Now you are a woman.

You were a boy,
Now a man.

Menopause has hit you.
Time is moving fast.

Grey hair, drooping shoulders,
You are not the man you used to be.

Do you deserve love?
Do you deserve respect?

Sad that you think you don't.
Look at your mama, your papa.

Aged, old, oh yes! ! ! ! ! ! !
Now you have an answer!

Love is free for all.
Young and old.

I chose my friends,
I chose my lovers.

Young or old,
I swing both ways!

Young is vibrant,
Old is gold.
! ! ! ! ! !
