Aging Earth Poem by Damilare Odeyemi

Aging Earth

Rating: 5.0

Man continues plundering the earth
Digging out anything that seem to be of worth
Upon hollows, cities are built
While pollution and garbage is being split

The land is turned to a concrete jungle
Ghetto and squalor with fighting and struggle
Trees and greens are destroyed without fear
Devastating earth's balance without care

Earth is crying and fighting back
People and buildings are filling the lack
The empty tunnels creek and groan
Tectonic plates shifting with mighty moan

Trees tried eking out moisture from the ground
Releasing it to air to go round
Forming clouds to be seconded by rain
Satisfying the thirst of soil and grain

Seas and oceans are pushed out of their area
Wildlife also out of their arena
Water bodies' fight accompany great harm
Making infants to grow cold in their mothers' arm
