Ahoy! Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Ahoy!

AHOY!
If Christ on earth we can't obey
When love's not in one's heart
We'll drift passing the Light of day
From Heaven's Truth apart

When Christ as Lord we fail to find
When cruising void of grace
Through life we'll sail, lost fooled and blind
Never to see God's face

But praise His name for wisdom's source
For truth, light, grace and love
Praise be to God for life's true course
Jesus; enthroned above

Truly learning God's wisdom taught
Opening Christ our door
Immediately; from Satan's port
We sail for Heaven's shore

Regardless of the cost or pain
We'll steer away from hell
Living one's life to live again
Through Him who does all well

We'll sail the seas with Christ as Lord
Dredging, trawling as one
Till all the catch is safe on board
And Heaven's will is done

So why, when knowing this is true?
Knowing Salvation's Way
The crew on earth remain so few?
Sailing life's ship today

There's no excuse The Truth's quite clear
The facts are plain to see
The crew must serve The Captain here
With Heaven's King to be.....
