Spread love, never hatred
As a child – advices from the learned
Today, no more applicable
AIDS - all being vulnerable
Make friends, but carefully
Avoid interaction intimately
With strangers especially
Virus this spreads rapidly
Unborn child of an infected mother
May be a victim – seems very bitter
A truth we all know
Will face a future, filled with sorrow
A society that is still learning
Facts and truth worth understanding
About this virus that is spreading
Every corner, without discriminating
Medical facilities catching up
With cases that are mounting up
The world fighting, all geared up
Finding a cure and never giving up
Let’s spread the knowledge
Of AIDS at every stage
Children at school
And teenagers, who think they are ‘cool’
Adults who understand their need to be protected
Better to be safe than dejected
Avoid friendship with strangers
Easiest route towards this danger
Hospitals, your haven during an illness
Visit the best, look for cleanliness
Its you ticket for cure with promptness
Once infected, you are left defenseless
This world filled with death in many forms
Terror strikes, sickness and crimes without norms
Avoiding this trap is your call
Ignore rules – AIDS accelerates
Your destined fall
My country has the highest number of Aids carriers per capita in the world. Your poem has a song hidden in there waiting to break out and deliver the message. My view is that there is only one true way to stop Aids. Not a condom but to teach people what God says one man one woman in marriage
