As a child, Albert Einstein,
Never liked to wear socks.
Whenever he was compelled to wear socks,
He found his toe, sticking out of the socks,
His socks always had holes,
He could not help his toes popping out.
As a grown-up man,
He dismissed socks from his life.
Either he wore boots or sandals,
But never socks with his shoes.
He did not bother about society or norms,
All that mattered was his own comfort.
As a famed Physicist he was invited
To many conferences and seminars.
Everywhere, he walked in casually sans socks.
Even, when invited by the President of America.
He entered the White House without socks. Never
Ever embarrassed about what the President would think.
President Roosevelt must have concentrated
On the brainy, smiling face of Einstein,
Enjoyed a vibrant, intellectual conversation
With this extra ordinary human being,
Rather than staring at his legs to see
Whether he wore socks or not!
When Einstein raised a scientific question
‘What if" you could not run alongside a light wave?
The scholars jumped to reflect on his
‘What if" I gave up wearing socks?
This simple act or habit of Dr. Einstein has lead
To long debates on his basic barefoot existence!
Always jovial, Dr. Einstein wrote to his wife Elsa,
"Even on most solemn occasions,
I got away without wearing socks and
Hid the lack of civilization in high boots."
I can imagine the hearty laughter of Elsa,
When she read her husband's letter!
A Biographical Poem
Excellent! This part carries provides a glimpse of his letters that he wrote to his wife! 5 stars.
This poem on Einstein soynds humorous. Einstein disliked wearing socks be it addressing meetings or merting the President.
Now what we value is his knowledge and contributions and not his socks, may be that could have fetched millions if donated, just joking. Fabulous info again Madam Geetaji.
Quite and interesting aspect of Einstein's behavior taken up. It also reflects the simplicity of this great human being of our time. Thanks, Geeta ji.
