All Day And Most Of The Night Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

All Day And Most Of The Night

Rating: 5.0

It took a long time coming,
For me to end the sounds leaking...
From a dripping faucet.
But when I got it fixed,
The hypnosis of it awakened me to wonder...
Why it had taken me so long to notice it?

It was as if I resisted.
To think of it not as a nuisance.
But as a pet I kept to keep me company.
With a wish I didn't have to get up to leash it.
And it would go outside by itself to play,
All day and most of the night.
