All Of Me Poem by Michael Ernst

All Of Me

This body, where do I start?
Yes, there's much more to it then just this broken heart

This hair on my head, it misses your fingers running through
And my mind?
Well, it works alot of overtime thinking only of you

These eyes, they're a fine pair
They tear up all the time, and look for you everywhere

My ears, they wish to hear you softly whisper my name once again
My nose, it misses the sweet fragrance of your hair and your skin

My lips, the bottom one quivers with desire to taste your sultry lips again
And yes the upper feels the same
But this poor throat still gets a lump in it at the mere mention of your name

These shoulders, the ones on which you rested your head as we lay together side by side
Now it seems the two of them are just along for the ride

Lungs, they struggle to catch their breath now and then
Just like my stomach gets a knot in it when you come around again

Hands and arms, now I'm really worried about these two
They're so empty and they ache all the time, longing to hold only you

And that brings me to my legs, just to walk with you again they would run through hell and back its true
So I guess now its no secret
All of ME misses you
