All That Remains Poem by Dakota Ellerton

All That Remains

I sit hopeless,
fading away.
This is all that remains,
this is all that's left.
I've given it all,
to be taken away.
Seems I've been here,
too many times before.
I've lost so much more,
then I could ever dream of handling.
Over addictions,
my friends have faded away.
The sharp words,
burned into my flesh.
A slave to emotions,
to Will.
Never.
The candles flickers a path to me,
an other choice.
I couldn't just observe it.
He said it was for nothing,
he said he couldn't trust me,
he said I was full of excuses.
I tried so hard to fight this,
and only ended up embracing it.
Giving my soul to a loveless cause.
Memories of better days,
slip through my fingers, fade away.
These are the days now,
as lonesome as ever.
