All My Jackets Are White Poem by Dakota Ellerton

All My Jackets Are White

A parasite in my head
you have infested
in time you will kill me
but for now we need each other to live
I rely on you
as you rely on me
one in the same
no matter what I do
I think of you
influenced by your choice to call my mind home
I can't think straight
my visions impaired
my senses dulled
you're slowly killing me
spreading through my body
If I don't acknowledge you
you're not there
each day, everyday
I wear my favorite jacket
and hum to the music in my ears
this is an illusion
you're only as real as I allow you to be

Very good, indeed Dakota. The plot is so surreal that it makes abstract anything look pale by comparison. A 10++++ thank you for sharing. Love & hugs, Barbara
