Alligators Have Long Jaws Poem by Jon Yttri

Alligators Have Long Jaws

Alligators have long jaws.
Lions have sharps claws.
A giraffe has a neck that reaches and reaches.
Fish go to school, but nobody teaches.
Ducks swim, but never sink.
Flamingos wear only pink.
Dogs are loyal. Ants toil.
Skunks may have talent, but they sure stink.

Animals, animals. So many around.
Each with its own habits. Each with its own sound.
Why did the Lord see fit to design.
So many species. Each detail fine?
Was it to fill our zoological parks?
Or so Noah could fill up his ark?
Was it so we'd have wild dreams?
Or merely names for athletic teams?
