Alone Poem by Thistle Wargul

Alone

I lie awake in the long dark night,
Eyes wide open, peering at the shadows.
Feeling alone,
So alone,
And hoping for an end
To this isolation.

Exiled, abandoned, left to die,
Bleeding and broken,
Numb forever.

The faint pulsing of a heart,
The steady flow of blood,
Fading away like smoke on a breeze.
Pure clean lungs
Polluted by the smell,
The taste
Of meaningless hatred.

Longing for your warm arms
To hold me so gently.
Longing for your soft hands
To wipe away my tears.
Feeling alone,
So alone,
But when will this exile end?
