ALONG WITH ME: Black [Like a widow made mute] Poem by Marc André Brouillette

ALONG WITH ME: Black [Like a widow made mute]

Like a widow made mute, I clothe myself in black to better feel my way to black, reducing the distance between us. I put on black not only to understand the other but also to be understood as the other. It demands concentration and sustained effort. Black will never let you get close to it. It refuses both seduction and protection.
