Alpha Phi Alpha Poem by Tiffany Saxon

Alpha Phi Alpha

Rating: 4.5

Founded in 1906,
Being the first of it's kind,
there were no warnings, disguise or
signs,
Only skills left behind from the
wise.
Giving today's youths the tools to stand
up and rise.
Legends are known to last through all
eternity.
For seven jewels blessed the world with
inspiration and unity.
Creating a monument known today as
ALPHA PHI ALPHA fraternity.
Born in a era of hostile and disfunctional
times,
For scholarship, leadership, and successs
are the gems of all kinds,
Yet, the right for higher education was the moving
force of there minds.
For this dedication to the colors of black and
gold,
Where brotherhood,
Leadership,
Excellence,
and Success can't be bought or sold.
For now this is written in stone.
So may god continue to bless all with integrity and
unity,
For he has given us a gem in ALPHA PHI ALPHA
Fraternity.
The End

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I was very curious to read this about a fraternity. I never joined one. So I wondered what the poem would say. I found it to be a nice tribute. I also thought it was a worthy one because the writer was sincere. This was not fake. That's what makes it valuable. The credit here, goes not to the fraternity or the poem , but to its author. I am so far removed from any sort of fraternity life that I found this interesting to read simply on that level, the message of integrity and leadership echoes softly below and comes through strong.

It is true what you have said, 'Success can't be bought or sold.' There is a formula for success. Sincere Efforts + Time + Divine Grace = Sucess. These three things are essential for every successful action. This is rightfully conveyed in your poem. well written.
