Als Klankschaal Voor Mijn Stem

Mijn Bastion
van koud beton
de stalen
stangen bepalen
mijn vergezicht
mijn introspectie en
mijn muur verhalen
gewapend samen
mij incluis
trachten ze
niet per abuis
mijn stemband
spreekt verdriet
te petrificeren
'Oh Atlas'
weet ge niet
mijn tamboe man
zal droevig lied
laten vibreren
het draaft door de
aarde heen
ze deelt het
aan haar
tenen mede
en ieder die het
voelen wil
zo is mijn hoop
zal zeer spoedig
als klankschaal
voor mijn stem
met klem gaan
protesteren.

poet Dante Gabriel Rossetti

Know'st thou not at the fall of the leaf
How the heart feels a languid grief
Laid on it for a covering,
And how sleep seems a goodly thing
