Alsheimer's Loveless Thoughts Unremembered. Poem by Michael Gale

Alsheimer's Loveless Thoughts Unremembered.

Rating: 5.0

Pillars of salt sit paraylyzed in unconscience thought...
Memoried beings of love once brought.

Perchance beauty remains to eye's own seeing...
Fro heart's emotioned pained briefly sped fastly as fleeing.

Light hearted laughter haunts my memories of times well spent...
A moment of shared love seems as viewed as borrowed and lent.

That salted pillar eats at memory like fat to heart...
Alsheimer's disease erases fond recollections of a loved feeling,
fro thy head's attatchment secondly stayed and dearly and sadly
doth it depart.

Time's remembered anchor in thee...
Like fro' this heart doth absently flee.

Falling out of love haunts memory stored safe...
Dissipating fast as a long deserted wraife.

Awesome Write, M.J.G....Well depicted scenario of an all so true to life event & a Horrific Malady/Disease....My Dad has a moderate form of it, but it isn't & will not get any better...Each week I watch the periods of blankness in his eyes go deeper into emptyness, a bit longer than weeks earlier...He has virtyally no short term memory, however he will vividly describe his stint as a Radioman, on GUAM, during WWII.....He is an extremely bright man, a philosopher, if you will & even at my age, I still feel the need for my Dads worldly advice....But it's not the same...So now its my turn to return 1/2 Century of love&' being there'by being there, with & for him, no matter what....Thank You for this piece, Michael.'''''''''''''''''''''''''FJR1 (10)
