Although I Know Poem by Cassie M. Williams

Although I Know

Although I know that it never was,
I like to think of how it could be.
My love for him is, so far, lasting.
It's as clear and far as any can see.

Although I know that he doesn't love me,
I like to pretend he feels the same.
I see him in my mind smiling at me,
And saying with some sort of reverance my name.

Although I know that dreams are pointless,
I like to have them for good measure.
It's good to keep your feet on the ground,
But it's not life without some form of pleasure.

Although I know that nothing's forever,
I like to hope my insights will stay.
You will never have a better view
Than what you'll behold when love lights your way.
