there should be a memorial
to black slaves murdered during slavery
there should be a memorial

to black lives murdered during civil rights protests
there should be a memorial
to black lives murdered by police

when will America erect missing memorials
to countless black lives murdered
to countless indigenous minority lives murdered

when America erects missing memorials
when America enforces civil rights for all
America will realize dream liberty justice for all
