An Abode Of God Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

An Abode Of God

Rating: 5.0

To that unique and peerless place
I had been once
And twice did I try to venture out but miserably failed
Though a decade and half there I stayed
For I have come a long way
Since when reflected upon it is miles and miles away
That no frigate could carry me there ever
Though mars, moon and stars look easy and fair
As wonder as a little star
Held it life was always lively and happier
Left it life fell like withering flowers
Petal by petal whisked away by time into that garden of memories
Why, how and when unknown and unseen
And of sensation barren enough to reason
Though intruded upon time and again
To haunt gold of budding green
But ended up with pain and pleasure
For such was the time stolen away from me so easily over there
That crystallized and miniscule phenomena
I could well recollect with nostalgia
Where happy days were born of childish plays
Wickedness of innocence and truth of lies
It is the place of abode where dwells thou art, a good-hearted God
With a lot of promises and dreams to offer to the bud
Upon which it blooms into flowers
That we lovingly call them as lily and kunal and aster
Wish I could care this world a little
When the world loved me so intensely
Like a little hero worshipped for forging peace and bliss
Though ignorant of worldly ways and cares and means
My grandma and mama were the happiest beings while
Chasing me and a band of naughty boys at my heels
As a cricket ball was always hitting the window of our home
Causing its glasses broken into pieces by our hands with no shame
And from a shard of glass I caught the flash of light and reflection of million stars
Where we often lost our ball at play childish and tender
Oh God, is the road to that paradise for ever closed?
Though I have come a long way longing often to go back to that distant land
Of sparkling light where everything was pure and placid
Seems for ever lost as I am cruising along another beautiful harbor of world
Where pilgrimage of one travel ends in a while
And another begins in time and eternity with a life heavenly

Many can relate to your wonderfully crafted poem: the childhood years: that is the time when we all felt closer to Heaven and the Divine than ever.
