An Angel In Disguise Poem by Danny D

An Angel In Disguise

Rating: 4.0

In a crowded room I first felt that touch.
The power in that touch was way too much
That I thought the world stood still for a moment.
As I felt you close to me for the first time.
I couldn’t see all the people around me.
As my eyes saw only you and you alone.
I couldn’t hear all the screaming around me.
My ears heard only your rhythmic breathing;
For I was holding an angel in my arms.
When you touched me all so gently;
I could feel peace and calmness engulf me.
When you kissed me all so tenderly;
I saw beyond the moon and the stars.
Did you know you glowed when you smiled?
You chased away all the sadness with that radiance.
Why didn’t you tell me you were an angel in disguise?
Who had come to show me just how strong love could be.
You wake up the sleeping emotions in me.
You gave me hope to believe that love does exist,
When I had given up hope of ever finding it
You taught me to dream and dream without any limits.
You made me feel I could be myself without any fear.
You made me believe I could fly for you gave me wings.
Why didn’t I realise this was a dream too good to be true.
And that you were an angel with invisible wings.
And I was trying to keep you here all to myself.
I thought you will be there beside forever.
I didn’t realise you couldn’t stay and that you had to leave.
If I knew, I wouldn’t have given you my heart.
You taught me to love, but now you have taken it away.
Because as you leave, you take my heart with you.
Will you ever pass my way again, sweet angel?
Will you ever come back to give my heart back?
Will you come back to stay forever and never leave?
As I look at the sky and watch the radiant moon this night.
A tear dropp trickles down my forlorn face.
As I realise life will never be the same again.
For I have been touched by an angel.
And that angel is you.

The person to meet such an angel would be one truly enviable. A very bold poem in its descriptions, warm and tender.
