An Angel Is In The Midst 'Exodus 23' Poem by Luke Easter

An Angel Is In The Midst 'Exodus 23'

Have you ever wondered how some people always get away?
While others never seem to catch a fair break any single day,
A ticket, jury duty, sore throat, headache, wrong order, flat tire,
Buy fresh produce from a grocery store the next day it expires.

How many have been there, done that, got the T-shirt & the hat,
If I could catch a break on this one next thing you know it’s back,
And if not this one then something from the left forges an attack,
Just around the corner makes you shout, “what the heck is that? ”

Obedience brings the blessings while disobedience brings the curse,
Which one do you practice, emulate, idolize, ponder, study, rehearse?
Ok what are the reasons we do the hate of evil over the love of good?
Is there any thing to deflate or detour the devil? Well, an Angel could.

Exodus 23: 20, “I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, ”
And yet exactly what does God say will happen if you refuse to obey?
A matter of fact, a good guideline for protection is found in Exodus 23,
“I will be an enemy to your enemies an adversary to your adversaries.”

So don’t repeat or raise a false report or lend the wicked a helping hand,
Then none shall lose her young by miscarriage or be barren in your land,
Should you meet your enemy’s donkey on the road and it’s going astray,
You shall do the right thing by returning it to him ASAP, that’s right away.

I will send My terror and confuse all the people to whom you shall come,
And make all your foes turn from you in flight, they will not walk but run,
Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites & Jebusites I will cut them off,
Read what happened in Numbers 33, neither can you be fearful and soft.

You shall not oppress a temporary resident for you were a stranger yourself,
Neither take no bribe and pervert justice, then expect to receive God’s help,
Do not follow a crowd to do evil on in a trial become an unrighteous witness,
Serve God, He will bless your food & water taking sickness from your midst.

There are 66 books in the bible yet which is the most important one to read?
Discussions will proceed until the end of time but right now what do you need?
Simply an Angel to go before thee to bring thee to the place I have prepared,
Otherwise you & anyone else will have a hard time getting from here to there.

23: 24, “do not bow down before their God, worship them, or follow their ways, ”
Then God will give you a full life span, He will fulfill the number of your days,
23: 19, “firstfruits brought to His house will only comprise of the best you see, ”
And most assuredly God will set your borders from the wilderness to the sea.

But, wherever I look nothing has changed everything is still in the same place,
23: 30, the Lord says, “little by little” is how He will drive them out, not in haste,
Reading the chapter intently you will see God works in an order, there is a list,
So no matter how dismal it looks always remember, “An Angel Is In The Midst.”

Is this only for the Old Testament? Excuse my English but no it ain’t,
By Calvary’s Cross this promise is also for us New Testament Saints,
For example, consider the verses of Galatians contained in chapter #3,
The promises made to Abraham by our faith also apply to you and me.
