An Anthology Of Poems Named Lockdown Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

An Anthology Of Poems Named Lockdown

Lockdown
An Anthology of Poems,
Poets as contributors
Talking of the lockdown
In their own way.

Sitting at home
And passing time leisurely
Without moving out
And just spending time to idle away.

With the offices shut and closed down,
Trains cancelled, buses stopped,
With no business, no activity,
Days are idling away.

The virus, the pandemic,
The infection, affectation,
the spread from up to,
The containment zone.

The red zone, the orange zone, the green zone,
The quarantine, the curfew, the lockdown,
Corona patients, the mask, the sanitizer, social distancing,
Physical distancing, health and hygiene,
The talks of the people.

All the rules thrown open,
All regulations gone,
Stay at home, stay safe and secure,
Our nomenclature and protocol too changed they drastically.

If the places of god can be found under lock and key,
The burials done hastily attended or unattended
As brief they could be
Lessening the rites and rituals,
Weddings inexpensive, hat to say it more?
