An Elegy For The Lost Dream Poem by Yasmin Hemmat

An Elegy For The Lost Dream

Rating: 5.0

What solace can the weary heart find,
In the remnants of dreams left behind?
With each passing day, a heavier plight,
As hope fades away, lost in the night.

In the hollow chambers of a broken dream,
Where despair reigns supreme, in silent scream.
No refuge found in the arms of night,
Just endless darkness, devoid of light.

Gone are the days of laughter and mirth,
Replaced by the tears that stain the earth.
Like a wilted flower, yearning for rain,
The soul seeks solace, but all in vain.

Oh, how the heart longs to be free,
From the chains of grief, from agony.
But alas, it is bound to sorrow's embrace,
Forever trapped in this desolate place.
