An Honest Life Poem by Garett Ryan

An Honest Life

Life crashing down, all hope lost
In the depths of despair, I am tossed

Feeling alone, I hide my face
Afraid to show the world my disgrace

But in the darkness, a light did shine
A voice that whispered, 'Be true, be kind'

I took a deep breath and let it out
And for the first time, I let myself be found

I opened up and shared my fears
And in that moment, I shed my tears

With honesty, I faced my pain
And in that moment, I was not in vain

For in being true to myself, I found
A glimmer of hope, a light on the ground

I may stumble and fall, but I'll keep moving on
For in being honest, I'll never be alone.
