An Icicle For An Eye Poem by Una Woods

An Icicle For An Eye

the bitter orchard trees
the flinty stars
a harsh moon-match
struck in the whitewashed yard
the waterblade of the barrel
steps snapped off the dirt path
winter's out and out
then
an icicle for an eye
