An Icy Moment Poem by Dorsey Baker

An Icy Moment

You boil with anger
About what happened a long time ago
It eats you all the way up
Until there is nothing left of you
But emptiness
Deep in your soul
You do not forgive
You do not forget
You just pretend
Your smiling face
It hides resentment
Your words
They chill to the bone
Your heart ice cold
Is frozen in time
So hard it will not thaw
