An Image On Mirror Poem by Ali Rahimi

An Image On Mirror

Contemplating the sad or joyful past,
Envisaging the dark or brilliant future,
Looking at my body, image, my face,
Ragged with the harsh blows of time, the merciless furnace,
Am I an icon, tycoon, hero or just a circus catface,
Thinking of grandparents, parents, my birthplace,
Those I didn’t choose, can’t change and replace,
Trying to visualize my real friends, my solace,
An image on a mirror,
I look at the reflection of myself in the mirror,
Brooding my failures, mistakes and disgrace,
And my success, awards, joys and elegance,
What am I? What is this image on the mirror?
Where did I come from? Where am I heading for?
Who are these aliens around me?
Am I my DNAs? My genes from gene pools surface?
Who am I? What’s my identity? What role should I embrace?
Am I made of my culture, religion, my roles, my selves or my race?
An image on a mirror,
An image on a mirror,
An image on a mirror,
An image on a mirror,

Remember my interactions, conflicts, frictions, and organizational menace,
I shall confront the nasty psychopaths,
Who bully and torment all at workplace,
Shall give them unending stigma everyplace,
Shall cope with panicky, shadowy institutions face to face,
Those with no shame, no fairness to trace,
Violating others’ privacy, rights and space,
In person, or through facebook harassment in cyberspace,
Smear campaigns, faceless character assassination, all place,
In their offices, meeting rooms, or palace,
Their minds and hearts are closed, just like a lace,
Let’s grab their throats, suffocate them in defense,
Smash their faces, with our minds, hearts and coming peace,
An image on a mirror…
