An Invocation: To Act Against Putin Poem by Gert Strydom

Putin, a psychopath, in front of a crowd
celebrating the annexation of another country,
misquotes the Bible:

'there is no greater love than when a person
gives his soul for another, ' where the Bible says:

'No one shows greater love
than when he lays down his life
for his friends, ' while it speaks directly of Jesus,
of You, my God.

Putin, says this and says that Russia brings liberty
to the Dombas, for them to be free

while in war-crime after war crime the news do tell
as Russia shells, bombs the hell

out civilians in the Ukraine,
and this In Your sight does remain.

Here now I call upon You, God to act,
where Putin, misquote and in Your name attack,

where to me this is a kind of blasphemy
as he does righteousness in killing innocents see,

he compares his soldiers and himself to You,
while he is unrighteous in everything that he do.

Putin lies and acts opposite as You have done,
after being lied to his soldiers to their death have gone

where You call Your followers friends of Your own,
to whom You have made everything known.

My Lord and God do note the blood on his hands,
where belligerent he stands,

note each war-crime he has done,
also that his army into a sovereign country has gone.

My God he: Putin is tempting You to judge him guilty,
let the same judgment on his whole remaining army be

do answer this when they expect it the least,
where this human acts worse than any beast.
