Anchors Away Poem by Joseph M Anderson

Anchors Away

Rating: 5.0

Anchors away my dear granddad.
You now rest with your maker,
Our hears here on earth
Shall be glad.

You taught us the way
We should live our lives.
And you did it with passion;
Day after day, you taught us to strive.

So anchors away dear Ol' Doc Joe.
Your maker has summoned you,
These earthly chains
Must let go.

And though we will miss you
A part of you will always live in me.
Someday I will see you,
In an eternity I long to be.

Bur for now we know you are in heaven
Where you may freely roam.
And the sun will always shine bright
On your old Kentucky home.

An honorable tribute. I'm sure your grandfather would be very proud. What an wonderful man he must have been.
