And So To Bed Poem by Dónall Dempsey

And So To Bed

Rating: 5.0

I sleep
in the bottom of

you sleep
in the top of

my pyjamas

so that when
you lie across me

at a certain angle

we are fully dressed

a female/male
creature

inhabiting
like a hermit crab

the same pair
of male pyjamas

with nothing
on our minds

but the joy
of sin

and so naked
now

we begin

both halves
of the pyjamas

watching together
from the floor.

The cat leaving the room
with a haughty meow

disdaining such
human passion.
