Andrew 'Pork Chop' Greene Poem by Luke Easter

I was wondering what happened to Mary and A.G.,
Thought for sure they’d be at the Couples Ministry,
Found out he was admitted to South Point Hospital,
So I stopped by to remind him it comes little by little.

Everybody should have a dependable partner or cohort,
For sure his other half, wife Mary was there for support,
The doctor came in with a speech that seemed rehearsed,
And very soon behind him, in strolled that negative nurse.

Deuteronomy 20: 8, what man is fearful and fainthearted?
From your presence let all who are like that be departed,
Lest any of the brethren become undependable like him,
Like those going to the buffet instead of going to the gym.

At your weakest moment the enemy will launch an attack,
You need troops, who march forward not those who run back,
Don’t be unnerved when internally you might begin to bleed,
At Calvary Hill, Jesus shed His Blood so we all can succeed.

Matthew 18: 19, the three of us prayed together and agreed,
1st John 4: 4, greater is he in me and in this case there’s three,
Certainly this brought Jesus in the picture forever in our midst,
While standing on the promise of our Father’s word we insist.

Isaiah 53: 5, by His stripes we are healed, need we say more?
Any and all doubt we rebuke and send it right out the door,
From Andrew’s feet to his head, the very bottom to the top,
I could tell by his weight the hospital didn’t have pork chops.

At first, this revelation almost gave me an ounce of a scare,
Then I realized if it did Pastor Markus would still be there,
If that were on the menu it would be the hospital’s bad luck,
The only way to make them both leave would be via tow truck.

Well, it was time to say goodbye as our spirits were now lifted,
We believe and understand in the name of Jesus we are gifted,
There is no better way to start off my day than having seen,
A smile on the faces of Mary & Andrew “Pork Chop” Greene.
