Angel Child Poem by Marca Washburn

Angel Child

Rating: 5.0

She was only ours
For just a while
A precious gift from God
And now his Angel Child.

We didn't see it coming
It hit us by surprise
For when she left this world
A part of us also died.

God decided he needed her
So from this world she left
She took a piece of all of us
Our hearts is what she kept.

We try to understand
And probably never will
Just remember to trust in God
And pray the pain will heal.

We long to see her face
And little hand to hold
But now she walks with Jesus
On Heaven's streets of gold.

All of our sadness
And all of our pain
God please be with us
And let us smile again.

In a blink of an eye
As your word reads
You will come to take us home
There with her for all of eternity.

So we will not be afraid
For our Angel is alright
The best Father in the whole wide world
Is holding her tonight.
