Angel's Allure Poem by Kailan Thomsen

Angel's Allure

I was going through life, never feeling complete
My heart never quickened, holds a steady beat.
My soul felt lost, shattered into countless pieces.
In my mechanical mind, dreaming all but ceases.

Then it happened, on a cold winters day,
The strings binding my heart, began to fray.
I noticed a girl running, only to miss her train.
She collapsed from exhaustion, in the pouring rain.

I ran to her side, outstretched my hand,
Keeping my grip, until I sure she could stand.
At that moment, he bright blue eyes met with mine.
That moment was endless, a pause in time.

Before me she stood, such beauty, such grace.
My heart was now racing, not its usual pace.
I felt like a dream, only I knew it was real.
The cold of the rain, I could no longer feel.

I gave her my jacket, as we got out of the storm,
Its cotton embrace, now keeping her warm.
I couldn't speak, lost in her aura so pure.
I was simply entangled, in this angel's allure.
