Angelfish Memories Poem by Jay Bradley

Angelfish Memories

The gift I give to each new heart
Is the time which never became
For if we jet through and beyond space
We miss it-Hailey, never forget the name

I'll see you upon the lonesome seashore
And as we await divine tides, I'll remember
Strolling down the shore, I'll save forsaken starfish
While shivering in the westward wind which took you in September

The more I ponder the silence of waves, I endure
Hidden are the Greek rivers to the distant in caves
Hidden be the way of ships asunder and minds down under
And the silence is beauty in the red river graves

For in the great blue keep glow forgotten soldiers
And every angelfish I see smiles a bubbly memory
As my tears drift toward whence they came dissolved
Unresolved after sharks cause the sub-marine flee

Upside down direction fools the rose, my soul reaps in this winter
As the silence consumes my sound, I'm found along the strait
I cough up angelfish memories, as your far-out eyes see me sigh
Every dream I have of you has been drowned in bold face fate

But while gracing the lonesome seashore, I'll follow you
Your footsteps guide me along the westward wind in fall
My new found comrades beside me as friends whisper silence and still profound,
And every kiss of yours still precious as the ones which I can't recall.
