Anguish Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

Anguish

Anguish

As years speed by;
I let my memory
Recollect the vision of you
Your face and your looks
Your color and your features
Your words and your smiles
Your stares and your angers
Your walks and your rests
Your sleeps and your dreams
That upon a hill set to eternal rest
That you are gone
Me and my mind
Self and my soul
Label it a lie
Seem all in collusion
That you come into my arid days
Like dews and winds from an oasis
Springing hopes and faiths to my stinging eyes
That I am building castles in air
And chasing you everywhere
Sobbing and cursing and falling and rising
And stumbling pitifully on to nowhere
And that you are gone
And there is nothing there
The truth echoing everywhere...........
