Announcements Of Caring Made Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Announcements Of Caring Made

A genuinely caring for others,
Does not take...
The convenience,
Of announcements to make.
From a stage awaiting an audience.

Many today pay little attention,
To words heard for them to hear.
Ensuring those words to be,
Loudly addressed.
Clear and impressive.
As well as,
Focused upon the act of caring.
Leaving 'thugs' seen publicly weeping.
Or pulled up off knees,
Overcomed by empathy shown and tears cried.

These declarations of caring,
Leave the facts nowhere produced.
And those caring words heard to hear,
Shown to lack both action and substance.
Known...
To those restricted to urban blight.
Who have been mainly aware...
Of disparities and injustices,
Gratefully delivered to them with care.

The ones in the know,
Are not those making announcements.
When the need for someone,
There to care.
Seems never there to appear.
During the times,
More had been the absence of it.
Than anything else that showed up!
