Anonymously Received Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Anonymously Received

Nothing says 'concern',
Like it shown and expressed.
This to do directly,
Is effective.
And not left to have it guessed.

Nothing is better felt,
Than to know someone cares.
Without this to hear from others,
How a person who has not heard this...
Should re-act to what is rumored.
After it has been passed,
By those who gossip.
Whispering from ear to ear.

So many thrive on lives to assume.
Making fools of themselves and others too.
In every kind of relationship there is,
Assumptions rule to expect them acceptable.
Like a delivery one receives,
Signed and sent anonymously to address.

Nothing says 'concern',
Like it done directly shown to express.
And nothing is more effective,
Than to know someone cares.
Without unexpectedly hearing this,
From another making attempts to convince...
That concern and caring not openly expressed,
Should by now be assumed to accept and expect!
