Another After Supper Poem by Rees Prichard

Another After Supper

FOR ev'ry meal's refreshment we receive,
Let us to God with due obeisance bow,
Who deigns so lib'rally our food to give,
And never lets us want, or famine, know.

Let us return him thanks, with grateful hearts,
For ev'ry gift we to his goodness owe,
For ev'ry grace and comfort he imparts,
For keeping us from poverty and woe.

Let us submissively our God entreat,
(All for the sake of our most blessed Lord)
In his due time our famish'd souls to treat
With his celestial spirit, and his word.

Let us beseech him plenteously to pour,
On all our heads his blessings and his grace,
That we may ev'ry day, and ev'ry hour,
Unite with glowing hearts, to sing his praise.
