Another Day Goes By Poem by Thomas Dooley

Another Day Goes By

Distinguish the fires from last night bring justice to the light
Fighting through the social misery just to make it to the right side of history

Another day goes by and I am still here still alive
Turn up Marvin and sing along here the words still strong

Fighting in the streets a brother on his knees for justice and peace
All the while the leaders continue their deceit lacking any dignity
What matters in a nation of lies blame-shifting left to right

Another day goes by and I am still here still alive
Turn up Stevie and sing along here the words still strong

Peace is not just a dream it lives inside everybody
Normal is just a myth when there is selective justice
We can be better than this when there is forgiveness

Another day goes by and I am still here still alive
Turn up Billie bring the song to history

Maybe you need the blues just to see the good inside of you
It is a backlash when you don't give a helping hand
This world was made for you and every man
