I don’t wanna be another number!
Some disabled teen,
Who made the choice trying in school,
Just wasn’t her thing.
Because she couldn’t do it,
The world is just too mean.
When she realizes that reality has fallen short,
And so have many of her hopes and dreams,
Its too late she’s already messed it up for herself.
I don’t wanna be another number!
Some pregnant girl who meets this great guy,
Then gave sex a little try,
She was only 16 but it felt so right,
She thought they’d be together,
For more then just one week.
I don’t wanna be another number!
Some kid hooked on meth,
Who started homecoming night,
Her friends said it was fun and now,
She can’t turn right.
I don’t wanna be another number!
Some girl left in the rain,
Who was raped and left in pain,
She can’t tell her parents,
It hurts to tell her friends,
She doesn’t know how to make these,
Nightmares go away,
Or talk to the guys she calls friend.
I don’t wanna be another number!
A stereotypical teen,
I am going to make a difference,
I won’t end up pregnant,
On drugs or dropp outta school.
Were not all bad,
You were once a kid you’re self,
So shut up and listen to me!
I am not going to be another statistic!
Because I am me, and I will change the world,
Just wait and see,
I will not be just,
very powerful poem, no one wants to be another statistic especially when the statistics these days are all for the wrong things, nicely expressed with 10 :)
You are a liar you did not write the original poem, you have changed the wording to a great poem and then called it yours.
loved this. sure you can 'change the world' if you keep putting out stuff like this.
This poem emphesizes the pitfalls surrounding teens these days but more importantly, a determination to be above the crowd, 'to change the world.' I see a positive attitude, I like that. Excellent piece. Richard
OMG this is one of my faves girl...no other word to say but amazing! ! LOVED IT
This poem was so true.... I don’t wanna be another statistic! Some girl left in the rain, Who was raped and left in pain, She cant tell her parents, It hurts to tell her friends, She doesn’t know how to make these, Nightmares go away. Really Strong....I understood this whole poem, I am always telling my family I will not be like all my older sisters and get pregnent at 18...or 20 and spend my life as a mother or as a wife. Loved it. I give it a bazzilion! haha
