Another World’s Hell Poem by Amy Styles

Another World’s Hell

There are many paths
you can choose,
but you have control over nothing.

The path you take might provide temporary happiness
but
death is inevitable.

No matter what you accomplish,
or how great you might be,
you will eventually only be bones in the earth.

Everything is temporary;
the land you inhabit,
the balls of flaming rock in the sky,
the dreams you so desperately strive for.

Greed
when you already have too much.

Inflicting damage on others
when you are insecure.

Happy memories are often forgotten
while sad ones are remembered for vivid detail.

Few exist
that are truly happy
with their short lives.

This is my world,
this is your world,
but perhaps another world’s hell.
