Anthem Of The Dying Soul Poem by Benjamin Dotse

Anthem Of The Dying Soul

What does it mean to be born to leave and
what does it mean to leave with no mother and no father and
what does it mean to be an orphan.

what does it mean to have with no bread to butter and
what does it mean to be left with hunger
what does it mean to be a street child and
what does it mean to be in slavery.

what does it mean to leave and suffer and
what does it mean for no one to bother
leave in pain and rejection, abounded and hatred and
yet no one will stop by to answer.

This am full of anger,
This i cannot answer,
This i deserve an answer,
This i will die and believe to leave
in a world better and
this i say is missery
In this i die ugly.

It is a sentiment of someone who suffered much. I can imagine a child so young for hardship..its heartbreaking, but somehow real. It reminds me that there are other faces of the world. But I really hope the soul would not fade away in this state. Souls don't deserve to die 'ugly'. Nonetheless it is a good poem. Thank you for sharing it.
