Ants (My Top Three Ants) Poem by Sophie Allyah

Ants (My Top Three Ants)

They aren't intimidate by the size
Nor lazy like the other species in precise
Ants are small creatures that I admired
I would like some of them transpired
Like these Bulldog ants from Australia
It is okay to fear them or have a phobia
They had killed at least three humans
They are the world's most dangerous ants
And the Leafcutter maybe not the deadliest
They are tiny but the strongest
Lifting fifty times their own body weight
Makes them my second favorite
Now the ones that I am about to induce
Is the third and the last to be introduced
These ants can be found in South America
Commonly called Tocandiras, the Dinoponera
Not to be confused with the heaviest
But they're among, if not the largest.

Ants are amazing and others they can outlive
For up to thirty years some ants can live
They are maybe not among the prettiest
But they are the longest living of all insects.

My top three ants.
