Any Man But You Poem by Tacyra Batson

Any Man But You

Life has been hard
I knew love wouldn't be easy
I thought if any man could love me
It would be you
I needed guidance for the wrong & right
I needed love on those heartbroken nights
If I had you by my side it would have all been better
Man after man, fail after fail
I started to resent you
Asked God to repent you
Thought being your first born baby girl
Life would be easy &
Love wouldn't be so hard
I can't stand how our bond is
No talks no walks
Not even common ground
I knew I could hate past ex's
I knew in time the pain would go a
But you are my father
How can I let you know
There's hate in my heart
Hurt in my eyes
This is supposed live for a stranger
I just wish this hate I have
Was for any man but you
