Ape Swing - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Ape Swing - Lincoln Park Zoo

This gorilla does like to do
Some rope swinging from time to time
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo.
There are fake trees that I can climb,
And grab ropes hanging 'twixt and 'tween,
As then I do play acrobat
In a hand over hand routine,
Up high above the habitat.
Very confidant I do be.
There is not any safety net,
Just the hard ground is below me.
But so far I've not fallen yet.

A swinger of which songs I sing,
As through the air you see me swing.
