Apocalypse Poem by deepanshu singhal

Apocalypse

glistring lights adorning the view
smiling faces rotting anew
cold water, cooler breeze
dying morals, spirits freeze

lights everywhere the surface shines
wretched insides slowly withers and slimes
friendly strangers, strange friends
whistling joy, crying bands

once a beauty now a ruined abode
a palace where stealth and shimmer rode
resting deaths, restless dead
comfortable bushes, thorny bed

hoards of vehicles the ambience changes
toxic shadow maligning senses
busy roads, empty homes
people dying, rising drones

uphill uphill the path went on
solitary birds of hope long gone
a thing lost for time sets score
wanting a thing everlasting or more
struggles forgotten, frozen fears
shrunken infinity, a second stretched to years
