Are You A Good Person? Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Are You A Good Person?

Who in the world, lives without sin?
In Jesus' holy name
Heaven's Lifeboat will call them in
Totally without shame

Do you think God will be satisfied?
With all you've said and done
Remain, will nothing left to hide
Life's victory to be won

'No, no' my friend, certainly not
You'll fail life's crucial test
Where no foul thought will be forgot
You'll join the lying rest

Best take a look inside today
Every nook and cranny
Before life's Judge, my friend, no way
Will you behave uncanny

All will be seen, everything heard
Try as hard as you might
Each filthy thing, foul thought, foul word
Will raise their heads to light

Nothing's concealed from ears and eyes
Of He on Heaven's throne
No crafty deeds, no cunning lies
Will God life's King condone

However wise, you think to be
What trophies you have won
You'll never see life's victory
Without God's Christ, God's Son

Jesus, to life's The Only Way
Through death, shedding His blood
Upon repentant souls today
To live as children should.....
