The words were out
hovering in playground eyes
ridiculing blindness
strangeness
foreignness

Slowly Pam
who later entertained
by making rabbits
with her six false teeth
the top set
looked

Laughing Gwen
eyes out on stalks
popping as usual
hair fizzing into frizz
mocked "Are you twins? "

Same age Same height
Same skirts Same jumpers
Same navy cardigans Same pattern

The new girl slid
silently along the wall
